You may have heard that a national tour called "Rise Up for Roe" recently made the rounds in several metropolitan areas. The event was sponsored by Planned Parenthood and NARAL, and aimed at energizing radical abortion activists who want to stop the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. As you can imagine, the statements made by speakers at the events were often confusing, horrifying and sometimes just untrue.
Perhaps one of the most disturbing comments was from panelist Jess Morales Rocketto. She said, in reference to pro-life supporters and Kavanaugh, "They literally want to kill (women of color)." Someone might want to let Rocketto know abortion is already deadly for preborn female babies of color. According to the Guttmacher, Black women represented 28% of completed abortions in 2014 while accounting for only 13% of the U.S. population. The Radiance Foundation - using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - finds that abortion is the leading cause of death in the Black community. If radical abortion activists want to protect women of color, then they should start by protecting the most vulnerable.
