Discuss this verse as a couple. Focus your conversation on the following questions.
"I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus." — 1 Corinthians 1:4
- In what ways have you seen God at work in your life? In my life?
- What have you noticed in my life that you've thanked God for?
- How can we encourage each other to become more aware of how God's grace has blessed us?
Your spouse is significant because he or she was created in the image of God and because of the grace God has showered on him or her. This grace is a big part of who your spouse is. It's part of his or her history and affects how he or she is growing closer to God and changing as a person.
With this in mind, you can appreciate your husband or wife not only for what he or she does, but also for who God is helping him or her become. Look for God's work in your spouse's life. As you become more aware of the grace God has given, your gratitude for your spouse can only grow deeper.
