Linkin' Bridge to Perform at Focus on the Family's Wait No More Event on Nov. 12

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Linkin' Bridge will kick off the Wait No More adoption conference in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, with a performance for the expected 800 attendees looking to learn more about – and possibly start – the process of adoption from foster care.

Focus on the Family is hosting the event on Nov. 12, during National Adoption Month, with the help of Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services, local churches, and area adoption leaders.

Participants will hear about waiting children, learn about the process of foster care adoption and ways to support adoptive families. Agency and county representatives will also be on-site to answer questions and help families begin the adoption process.

Wait No More also enjoys the support of Gov. Matt Bevin and his wife, Glenna, who are adoptive parents to four children in addition to their biological kids.

"Matt and I are passionate about finding families for children without homes," said the first lady. "We are excited to partner with Focus on the Family for the Wait No More event. It is my hope Kentuckians will be the hands and feet of Christ, opening their hearts so every child in Kentucky can have a forever family."

Focus on the Family is hoping Kentucky's more than 6,500 churches will head the call to help waiting kids.

"God has given Christians clear commands to care for orphans," said Kelly Rosati, who adopted her four children from foster care and serves as vice president of Community Outreach at Focus on the Family. "Many of these kids are dealing with feelings of rejection, fear and mistrust, and we want to shine the light of God's love to them through adoption."

More than 15,400 people have attended Wait No More conferences since its debut in 2008, with 3,361 families initiating the process of adoption from foster care thanks to the collaborative efforts of Focus on the Family's Wait No More events. Throughout its history, the 31 Wait No More events have brought together 4,297 churches and 265 government and private agencies in 20 states.

The Shepherdsville event will be Wait No More's second conference in Kentucky. About 240 people attended a Wait No More even in Louisville in October 2012, where 50 families initiated the process of adoption from foster care.

The Nov. 12 event is scheduled from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Eastern time at Little Flock Baptist Church, located at 5510 N. Preston Highway in Shepherdsville. No admission costs are involved. However, because conference-related materials will be offered, pre-registration is strongly preferred.
